Community Impact Grant
Our community is full of talented, inspired people with great ideas who are dedicated to making La Crescent a place that people love to call home. The
La Crescent Community Foundation is dedicated to helping bring some of those ideas to life through a new grant program. The La Crescent Community Foundation’s Community Impact Grant will award up to $5000 in one-time funding for a qualified group or organization to support new projects or programs that enhance the lives of La Crescent area residents.
What is the focus of the La Crescent Community Foundation and the Community Impact Grant?
Community Impact Grants must support the purpose of the La Crescent Community Foundation, which is to support charitable, recreational, scientific, literary, cultural or educational purposes within the La Crescent area. Preference for funding goes to grant applications that fall in the following areas that meet the purpose of the Foundation:
Applicant must:
1) Be a nonprofit organization or sponsored by a nonprofit organization, exempt from Federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a governmental body, including schools and municipalities located in the greater La Crescent area
2) Conduct business without discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, age, marital status, disability or national origin
3) Agree to provide updates to the Foundation regarding the use of funds during the grant year cycle
We have a great idea, but we are not part of a nonprofit group. Can we still apply?
The Community Impact Grant is intended to support great ideas that will be supported in the community by established groups. If you do not currently have nonprofit status, we suggest you contact a local nonprofit to sponsor and support your group. Having the backing of other groups increases your likelihood of success.
